I had to undergo a total discectomy (total removal of a spinal disc) at the age of 28. It was completed the old way, so it meant I had a large scar and a fusion at the bottom of my spine. I was in bed for a few days and was under close observation for nearly 6 months. I was a professional runner at the time but was advised to put professional sport to a side for the rest of my life. I had to avoid back extension (bending backwards) and was left with so many unanswered questions. The questions that drove me through extreme challenges to become the person who I am today!
Continued studying and research for at least 2 decades have helped me to live an almost normal life despite having that fusion but I still feel as if I had understood what it was wrong with me at the time maybe I could have avoided the surgery.
Putting all my experience into creating easy to follow exercises and self care tips for back pain sufferers, have created my DVDs which were selected one of the 3 “Best Health DVDs” by Women Weekly in 2009/2010. Great honour to be able to help my people to understand what their pain is and how they could improve the quality of their life having the back problem.
These DVDs give you all the information that you need to understand your condition accompanied by great simple exercises that you could do anywhere anytime from work, in your car, at your local gym or in the comfort of your own home. Knowing that not all people have the same capabilities, I have created two DVDs, one for able body and another one for people with mobility issues or wheelchair users.
I know not many people have DVD players at reach any more so I am pleased to announce that we now have the digital version of the DVDs available on this website that could easily be yours by clicking here.
